Postpartum Doula, Birth Supporter & Business Mentor for the Nurturing Professions
Hi, I’m Laura – British-born, Köln-based Mama, postpartum doula, and founder of Mothering the Mother.
I’ve supported dozens of women through the wild and tender journey of new motherhood – and I know firsthand how powerful (and how undervalued) this work can be.
After experiencing the emotional shock of postpartum myself – far from family, unsure of what I needed – I became passionate about ensuring no woman feels alone after birth.
I’m trained as a birth and postpartum doula, with additional experience in postpartum cooking, emotional support, and navigating the German health system.
Now, through this course, I help doulas and caregivers build sustainable, soul-aligned businesses – without burning out or playing small.
Let’s get you paid, grounded, and doing what you love.

What you’ll learn
-
You don’t need everyone to want your services – just the right people. We’ll help you define exactly who your dream clients are, where they spend time (on and offline), and how to speak directly to their hopes, struggles, and values. You’ll finish with clarity around your niche and confidence in how to connect with the kind of clients who make this work feel joyful and easeful.
-
Yes, it is possible to get paid by the German public health system as a postpartum doula! But there are a few hoops to jump through – and this course will guide you step by step. From how to talk to your client’s doctor, to which forms to fill out, to what to do if the application is denied, you’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and templates that make the process feel do-able (even if German bureaucracy usually gives you a headache).
-
You don’t need a huge following, reels with fancy transitions, or daily content to make social media work for you. In this course, you’ll learn how to show up online in a way that feels authentic, sustainable, and aligned with your values. We’ll cover what to post (and what not to), how to attract the right kind of attention, and how to build trust with potential clients through simple, genuine content.
