Before birth:

  • Call up your Health Insurance company and ask for the form “Antrag auf Haushaltshilfe”.

  • Check with your Frauenartzt (gynecologist) whether they would be inclined to support your application for household help. If they aren’t, find a doctor who is (I can help with some suggestions if you need support). Be prepared to discuss the mental and emotional stress you are currently feeling as well as any physical strains you have / expect to have after birth and explain how you this will affect your postpartum period.

  • Think about what services you would like and ask me about my availability.

  • In order to secure a slot in my calendar, we will agree on an initial number of hours to be paid by you in case the application is not successful (minimum is 12) and pay a 10% deposit.

After birth:

  • Ask your doctor to fill in the form, provide my details (importantly, I am an ‘organisation’ with an IK Number when filling in the form - ask me for my information). Then send it to your health insurance company.

  • The health insurance will decide whether they approve your application, change it (reduce the number of hours for example) or refuse it.

  • I am able to start working with you as soon as baby is there and will work the number of agreed hours in our initial contract. When the health insurance responds to our application (can take up to a week), we will know how we can proceed.

  • If the application is successful, I will then invoice the health insurance directly.
